The language in the bylaws should be written to more clearly define conflict of interest, and the process to determine if a conflict of interest exists. The District, like most school districts in the State of California, utilizes the services of the California School Boards Association ("CSBA")1 related to the creation, adoption, and revision to the District's Board Policies/Board Bylaws/Administrative Regulations. The Board has directed the Superintendent to ensure that the District's policies related to conflicts of interest are updated in accordance with the most current policies/bylaws released by CSBA. In the event any of the conflict of interest language set forth in the District's policies is out-of-date, the Board will adopt updated versions as promulgated by CSBA. CSBA is the nonprofit education association representing the elected officials who govern public school districts and county offices of education throughout California. A membership-driven association, CSBA provides policy resources and comprehensive policy services, which include, among other services, providing up-to-date board policies/bylaws to public school districts such as the District. The District is a member of CSBA and utilizes its services for updating its Board Policies/Bylaws: MARIPOSA COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION AND TRUSTEES Kathy Chappell, President Robert Collins Steven Bacus Judy Eppler Jennifer Kiser District 1 District 2 District 3 District 4 District
