The choice of library books at the JJC is limited. We disagree with this finding. The Juvenile Hall library contains approximately 8,000 books from which youth can choose. The library cycles out books that are not selected for reading, and continually adds current literature appropriate and/or popular for youth.

The method of requesting books at the Juvenile Hall be modified to include the ability to request a genre. This recommendation has been implemented, as it has already been the practice. As stated above, the Juvenile Hall has several mechanisms to obtain books from its library.
