The process of entering the main unit from the administrative office is inadequate and relies on a phone call to the nurses’ station, where staff has no direct line of sight of the hallway in front of the office and who must rely on convex mirrors and a real-time video camera and television in order to assess the situation.

R1Page 34Install a one-way glass window in the door of the administrative office to enable staff to check the hallway before opening the door. Also, a video surveillance system should be installed in the administrative office that would monitor the hallway outside of its door.
