F1
The Lompoc Police Department needs a Co-Response team dedicated to its geographical area. The Board of Supervisors disagrees partially with the finding. The determination of need for a dedicated co-response team within the incorporated area of the City is outside the Board of Supervisor’s jurisdiction; however, the County’s experience suggests that the use of a co-response team leads to better outcomes for justice-involved individuals.

R1
That the Lompoc City Council negotiate with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office and the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors on behalf of the Department of Behavioral Wellness to add a Co-Response team dedicated to the Lompoc Valley. This recommendation will not be implemented because it is not warranted that the Board of Supervisors initiate negotiations for services in the City’s jurisdiction. The Sheriff’s Office North County co-response team currently assists the City of Lompoc when available and when requested through mutual aid. Attachment A
