Restroom Upgrade: Authorize a study of the facilities at Juvenile Hall to determine if portions of the older living quarters without toilets should be remodeled or replaced. This recommendation will not be implemented because it is not Response: warranted or is not reasonable. Probation understands the need to replace the older living units and build rooms with toilets. This has been identified in our ten-year plan and will be pursued as funding becomes available. It is not possible to remodel the current individual living rooms to add toilets. Toilets are available in the shared living unit restrooms. Minors who are ill or have special needs requiring a toilet room are placed in those rooms. Juvenile Hall has a rated capacity for 434 minors. These minors are housed in 357 rooms. Currently, there are 197 rooms with toilets, or 55%. This number will increase as construction/renovation funds become available and the older living units are replaced.
