That the City of Santa Barbara provide separate accommodations for women at the Center. Please consider the environment before printing this letter. City's Response: Effective May 1, 2020, The City of Santa Barbara closed its Sobering Center in downtown Santa Barbara, and transitioned to the use of the County's Sobering Center through the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) located at 305 Camino Del Remedio. This County sobering center is currently being utilized by the SBSO, UCPD, and CHP. They have robust services that will be beneficial for those who suffer from alcoholism and drug addiction. This County Sobering Center is funded through Prop 47 grant funds and offers more extensive services and space. They have separate accommodations for women at the Center.
