All agencies involved must coordinate their efforts to end illegal rooster keeping and the associated crime and disease. Monterey County has a legal ordinance. Monterey County should enforce it with equanimity and impartiality. The MCCGJ agrees with this quotation from the summary of Perez V. County of Monterey.4 “The County has an interest in establishing humane and sanitary standards for the keeping of roosters."
