In the City of Rio Vista, we already have one non-emergency number to use for all law enforcement related services that our residents to use which includes animal services. To change would cause confusion and result in a delay in providing services as residents are either transferred to the new number or try to research it. Our police officers respond to animal calls when animal service officers are not available and take appropriate care of an animal until animal service officers can respond.

- Rio Vista has already begun to work with animal service officers from HAS to increase enforcement efforts in citing violators of animal licensing laws. In addition to HAS, our Code Enforcement officer has also started using municipal ordinance violations as a tool to insure compliance. This effort will continue in the future and may include use of police officers as needed.
