Findings and Recommendations
1 findings
The Civil Grand Jury found that 7 of the 22 Santa Clara County School Districts that offer parcel tax exemptions have failed to make it convenient for resident homeowners who are 65 or older or disabled to apply by not having a clearly marked parcel tax link on the home page of their website.
Related Recommendations (1)
Districts should place a parcel tax link clearly marked on the home page of their website that leads directly to parcel tax information and exemption forms, by August 31, 2018. Board Response to Finding 1 The Franklin-McKinley School Board agrees with this finding. Franklin-McKinley School District has placed a parcel tax link on the home page which is now very visible and easily to access. See Link at www.fmsd.org Business Services Department www.fmsd.ora Franklin-McKinley School District has also reviewed and revised hand outs and mailings to address all accommodations with senior residents. (i.e., applications and supporting documents can be mailed in now, instead of bringing them in person) If you have any additional clarifying questions, please feel free to contact me at the email or number stated below.
