1: Sacramento County, Sacramento area fire departments and hospitals should prominently display information about the locations of their "safe surrender sites" on their websites, or provide referral information on their websites if they are not "safe surrender" program participants. District's Response: All Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District fire stations have been indentified as safe-surrender sites as part of the Safely Surrendered Baby Program. Our website (http://www.sacmetrofire.ca.gov - Community Services, Programs, Safe Places) has been updated to reflect our participation in this program. In addition, we have added a direct link to a list of our fire stations and to the Safely Surrender Baby Law. The District takes great pride in keeping the citizens in our communities safe. Please do not hesitate to contact my office at (916) 859-4501 if you have any questions. Respectfully, Kurt P. Henke Fire Chief cc: Becky Castaneda, Grand Jury Coordinator - (castanb@saccourt.com) Serving Sacramento and Placer Counties
