BACKGROUND: In June 1997, the Assessor’s Office was consolidated with the Recorder, Clerk to the Board of Supervisors, Elections and Micrographics. So, not only is the Assessor the County Assessor, but he serves as head of other departments as well. III. FINDINGS: · The County Assessor’s Office does not have at the present time an in- house Auditing Appraiser. The work done by an Auditing Appraiser is currently being accomplished by an outside agency, which this Grand Jury has found to be doing a satisfactory job.
