The statistical data provide by EMS on the Narcan usage for 2021,2022, and 2023 indicates a declining percentage of on-scene-fatalities. Response to F1 The Menifee Police Department concurs with this finding. Since assuming police service on July l, 2020, we have been actively training our officers in the use ofNarcan. Between 2021 and2023, our officers administered Narcan to 38 individuals, saving 34 lives. Our records indicate three fatalities in 2021, none in 2022, and one in 2023. The availability of Narcan has assisted law enforcement and the public to assist suspected opioid overdoses and to have a better chance at survival. Resoonse to F2 The Menifee Police Department agrees with this finding. Our agency currently obtains Narcan through the use of gtant funding.

There is a lack of guidaace regarding what data should be tracked by law enforcement and other first responders when administrating Narcan. ResDonse to F3 Based on the Grand Jury report, the Menifee Police Department agrees with this finding. However, the Menifee Police Department has been tracking the recommended data points since beginning its use of Narcan. This data should include the number of incidents dosages by incidents, number oflives saved, and the number of fatalities. Response to Rl The Menifee Police Department agrees with this recommendation. Accurate data collection is important to show the effects ofthe use ofNarcan as well as the instances ofopioid related medical emergencies. The Menifee Police Department will continue to track the recommended data points regarding the use of Narcan and we will ensure this information is submitted to fuverside County EMS in a timely manner.
