Lodi Unified School District (LUSD) submitted the following truancy report to the California Department of Education (CDE) for fiscal year 2007-2008: Student enrollment ………………… 31,611 Truancy notifications ……………… 12,654 Truancy rate………………………. 40% 66 The district submitted a Truancy Rate of 40% to the California Department of Education. Lodi Unified School District (LUSD) submitted the following truancy report to the State Controller’s Office (SCO) for the fiscal year 2007-2008: Student enrollment………………… 31,611 Truancy notifications……………… 6,624 Truancy rate…................................ 21% Initial notices of truancy reported to the State Controller’s Office are reimbursable under state mandated cost programs. LUSD reported a Truancy Rate of 21% to the SCO, which resulted in a potential claim of $114,462 for State funds.

The accurate truancy numbers, prepared by the Child Welfare and Attendance Advisors (CWA) for each school, were not accessed by the Educational Support Services (ESS) staff in time for inclusion in the Consolidated Application Part I in June 2008. Therefore a clerical error made in the ESS office resulted in an inaccurate truancy rate reported on the Consolidated Application.
