The Board of Supervisors and the Sheriff should work with the Department of Corrections to find a mutually beneficial solution. Response: Has been implemented. Continuous work is being done by the Community Corrections Partnership, along with Probation, Sheriff, and the Board of Supervisors, to work out a viable financial solution for use of the Camps by Trinity County. At the moment, the county, not the Department of Corrections or Cal Fire, has to bear all medical costs of our participants. We are working with and through Regional Council of Rural Counties, California State Association of Counties, and Sheriff's Associations, to work with the Department of Corrections to find a reasonable solution. We, too, do not want to see a decline in the number of inmates, as these camps provide some of the best rehabilitation along with providing so many services to Trinity County.
