  The Orange County Transportation Authority and the Office on Aging identify funding sources, such as Measure M, to support future expansion of senior transportation services Original Response The recommendation has not yet been implemented, but will be implemented in the future. Current Status The recommendation has been implemented. The Office on Aging is working closely with OCTA to identify programs specific to senior transportation issues in Orange County that maybe considered a "bundle" of services that could be tied to the new Measure M initiative for funding. In addition, communications and collaborative meetings with a variety of community and county resources to address the ongoing funding issues associated with senior transportation continue to be a part of the Office on Aging routine.

  The Office on Aging plan for future staffing to accommodate the growing senior population. Original Response The recommendation requires further analysis. Current Status The recommendation will not be implemented, because it is not reasonable Due to the severe budget constraints suffered by reductions in net county cost and Tobacco Settlement Revenue funding limitations, it has been necessary to decrease the Senior Transportation staff by two full time positions. Unless additional funds are received through other sources, the two positions are not expected to be filled. The Office on Aging continues to follow the Board direction to decrease county administrative costs in order to increase transportation trips provided to older adults in Orange County.
